Michael Caravelli, M.D.

Dr. Michael Caravelli began private practice in 2010.  He began his career in Oregon and joined Napa Valley Orthopaedic Medical Group in January 2021.  He came to us revered by colleagues and patients alike.  Excellent surgical skill and improving quality of life for those suffering from joint pain and improving their quality of life are his priority.  Another facet of providing the highest levels of patient care is his ability to monitor quality, value, and outcome data to drive patient satisfaction; always an advocate for healthcare reform and improving care delivery.

Dr. Caravelli finds, in his passion around being a health care provider, a great satisfaction both in performing and educating around surgical care.  He focuses his work on minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery; as well as both surgical and non-surgical treatments for osteoarthritis.  He has expertise in robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement and complex knee and revision surgery.  He is board certified and fellowship trained in adult reconstructive surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Caravelli enjoys food, family and the outdoors.  Creating in the kitchen, of course, since the life revolves around food and it brings family and friends together.  Biking, paddleboards, golfing and anything else that tires out the kids.
